Aubrietia wins at Wolves

AUBRIETIA gained a first career success when taking a 6f Claimer at Wolverhampton on Monday, July 9.

The daughter of Dutch Art stepped up on her previous form to win in game fashion under Nicky Mackay.

Having been handy throughout, Mackay kicked Aubrietia into the lead with two furlongs to go.

She was headed by Marinus inside the final furlong but rallied back to land the spoils by a neck.

The winning rider said: “Before she´d shown absolutely nothing, Luke Morris rode her last time and he told Ed to put blinkers on and it´s obviously done the trick. She travelled well and possibly idled a bit in front.”
